I have completed installation of Visual Studio 2008 on my machine and here are few observations.
- I first removed all the footprints of .net from my machine by uninstalling all the previous versions.
- Did a full installation of Visual Studio 2008 Team suite (except MSDN library for VS 2008). The dump is of size approx 4GB (includes MSDN library for VS 2008 dumps) and after installation it requires approx 4.5 GB .
- The installation was quite fast on my 1GB RAM Windows XP machine.
- Following are framework version folders created in system folder.
- ASP.NET version is 2.0.50727
- So the CLR still remains at v2.0.
- Here is the list of components which got installed.
From the above list it looks PIAs for Office 2007 are missing but they can be download freely from Microsoft Download's.
